Since 2003 Sheffield has held an annual mural competition where nine finalists are asked to paint their interpretation of a set poem live, in front of the public.

Mural Fest Dates – 22nd to 29th March 2008

In 2008 Mural Fest will be an international event – pitting nation against nation in a week long mural paint-off between nine artists. Sheffield will be laying down the gauntlet for other mural towns to send their best mural artists for an exciting mural challenge.

The challenge - to interpret Marc Wasley's poem, “The Gathering” and paint a full scale mural depicting this theme.
